THE ASYLUM TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PART A
This contract is between The Asylum (Scotland) Ltd a limited company with the principal address of which is Unit 1 & 2, Conveth Business Park, Laurencekirk, AB30 1AD; and the member who has agreed to this contract upon joining the club.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS
PAYMENT
A contract for the services will be formed between you and us once a membership form has been completed and your initial payment has been made along with a non-refundable £15 joining fee which covers fob rental and all administration costs.
1. Membership fees will be paid in accordance with the payment option selected by you:

Members will be required to complete the relevant direct debit mandate and payments will be collected on the 1st of every month via GoCardless unless you have selected a bi-annual or annual membership option.
Without restricting any other legal right that we may have, if you fail to pay us on time, we will charge a late fee surcharge of 10%. In addition, we will be entitled to recover from you the full amount of our administrative costs and any other costs incurred in recovering any unpaid sum. We will endeavour to recover outstanding costs ourselves however if our attempts are unsuccessful we will pass the debt onto an independent debt collection company who recover the costs on our behalf.
If your payment has been cancelled or becomes overdue, we will refuse entry to our club until the outstanding sum including any additional charges has been paid in full.
You may cancel your membership by giving us at least one full months’ notice in writing from the start of a calendar month (1st).
We do not offer refunds for non-usage of the gym facilities or for non-use of any block sessions.
Any discounts offered on a block booking of sessions will be void and charged at our single session rate if you chose not to use the sessions.
ENTRY
Members over the age of 18 will have full access to our club 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year unless we have specifically specified our club is closed.
Members under the age of 18 will have restricted access to our club during manned hours only in the times set out below:
Monday – Sunday 8am – 8pm
PLEASE NOTE: We are currently a members only gym for the foreseeable future and members are no longer permitted to take guests into the facility.
(You can request to take a guest/s into the club with prior approval from a gym owner. Guests will be required to pay the current ‘Pay as you go’ fee, agree to our terms and conditions, complete the relevant PARQ and sign into the club upon arrival. You will be responsible for your guest’s behaviour and health & safety whilst in the club.)
CLUB RULES
It is mandatory that all new members have an initial visit/induction with a member of staff before they can use the facility.
You will be responsible for your own key fob. Under no circumstance should this be used by anyone other than the appointed person. If a fob has been lost or damaged, it is your responsibility to notify a gym owner immediately and payment for a replacement key fob will be required. It is mandatory that all members have a key fob to access the facilities.
You should not grant access to any persons who do not possess an active key fob for the club.
The fire exit door should remain closed at all times and should only be used in case of emergency.
Under no circumstances should the front door be propped open.
Whilst using the facility you are responsible for using the bins provided for any rubbish, tidying up any excess chalk used, returning equipment to the rightful place after use and ensuring the toilet and changing room facilities are clean after use.
Any persons using the facility whether it be a member or non-member can be held liable for damage to the facility and it's contents.
Any medical conditions that may affect you whilst using the club should be brought to the owner’s attention.
The gym can be unmanned at certain times of the day, you are responsible for your own health & safety whilst using the club.
An emergency call button is located at the front door and is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
You are responsible for your own belongings in the club.
The music is to be of an appropriate noise level.
No smoking or drug use is permitted in the club.
Should any of the aforementioned be breached the contract will be terminated with immediate effect.
STRONGMAN EQUIPMENT
Strongman training can be a dangerous sport.
We advise that a minimum of two people train with this equipment to ensure safety for users.
Atlas stones are not to be used unless a minimum of two people are present including someone who is an experienced user.
If you have no experience using this type of equipment, we advise consulting with a gym owner prior to use.
SUNBEDS
Sunbeds are available to the general public, you do not need to be an Asylum member to access these.
By law, sunbed use is strictly for use by persons who are aged 18 years and over. Please do not be offended if we ask for Identification.
If you are bringing in your own lotion we will ask to view it to make sure it is suitable for sunbed use.
Please note that high street lotions/moisturisers are not to be used in our facility nor are any lotions which have been purchased from social media sites/shops.
We have a range of sunbed lotions available to purchase which our tanning consultant can help with.
Please note that you may be held liable for any damage caused to our beds and charged accordingly.
We kindly ask for 24 hours notice for cancellations. If suitable notice is not given or in case of a 'no show' you may have minutes deducted from your account.
COVID
You will be asked to abide by the club’s current policy which supports the Governments latest guidance.
You are required to wipe down all equipment and surfaces you have touched using the cloths and anti-bacterial spray provided.
Please respect any social distancing measures in place.
Our priority is to keep all our members and staff as safe as possible whilst using the club.
Anyone who deliberately fails to follow our policy will have their membership terminated with immediate effect.
CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The Asylum (Scotland) Ltd reserve the right to amend this contract and our policies at any time.
